Andrew Cooper from Universal AV asked us to produce some cost effective faceplates for one of his education clients.
The school in Burnley, Lancashire, had complained that previous installations from other re-sellers had consisted of ‘cheap’ materials.
They did not need anything out of the ordinary, they just wanted to add a bit of quality to the terminations.
One complaint from a previous installation was that teachers had removed the VGA fly lead from the wall plate, unscrewing the thumb screws, intern this loosened the fixing of the VGA connection within the faceplate.
We did not treat this product as out of the ordinary and very simply ensured that all of the connections in the 2 gang plastic plate were correctly contoured to each of the connectors.
We ensured that each of the connector fixing screws were recessed into pockets so they were flush with the front of the plate.
Furthermore we contoured the vga screws’ cut outs to a hexagonal shape, this prevented the fixings being loosened via the thumbscrews.
We then engraved and coloured the Universal AV logo and branding onto the plates.
Universal AV were then able to provide a cost effective, and problem free product, for their installations.
